The V8-E is a Simcenter SCADAS Mobile and Lab input module that supports full voltage and ICP signal conditioning as well as signal processing for eight channels.

The V8-E series offers a unique combination of extremely low power consumption, high-performance 204.8 kHz 24-bit analog-to-digital conversion, and a noise-free dynamic range of 150 dB.

Signal conditioning
Each input channel features a voltage amplifier with an input range of ±316 mV to ±10 V and an ICP power supply for the transducers.
The V8-E features an ICP cable test circuit that detects breaks in the sensor cable. Errors are indicated by an LED on the front panel and simultaneously transmitted to the host to provide the user with optimal feedback.

For acoustic applications, a 7-Hz software AC coupling reduces low-frequency signals that could otherwise overload the input amplifier.
Anomaly detection
The input module features an ICP cable test circuit to detect an open loop in the sensor cable. Errors are indicated by an LED on the front panel and simultaneously transmitted to the host to provide the user with optimal feedback.
Support for smart sensors
The V8-E versions support smart sensors compliant with IEEE 1451.4 without requiring any cable replacement. The module can read the Transducer Electronic Data Sheet (TEDS), which contains important information such as sensor type, sensitivity, calibration date, coordinates, etc.
Analog-to-digital conversion
The input modules use energy-efficient, high-performance 24-bit sigma-delta analog-to-digital converters. Each ADC is preceded by a 4-pole analog anti-aliasing filter. With a maximum sampling rate of 204.8 kHz, the V8-E supports both vibration and acoustic applications. A wide selection of digital decimation filters reduces the bandwidth in steps of 2 and 2.5.
Calibration
The factory calibration factors for gain and offset are stored in non-volatile RAM.

In addition, the VS8 modules offer the same specifications as the V8, but also support digital SPDIF audio sources. The two slot-mounted input modules, the V8B and VS8B, are each equipped with eight BNC connectors to eliminate the need for cable adapters.
